Project Overview
Q Flooring Systems was appointed to refurbish a production area within a major brewery in Manchester. The project involved replacing damaged drainage channels and gullies, extensive substrate preparation and the installation of a heavy-duty Flowcrete resin flooring system. Working predominantly during night shifts, the refurbishment was carefully planned to minimise disruption and allow the brewery to maintain normal production throughout the programme.
Scope of Works
- Replacement of damaged drainage channels and steel gullies
- Mechanical preparation of the existing concrete substrate
- Installation of Flowcrete heavy-duty screed
- Application of Flowcrete SF41 resin flooring
- Colour-coded pedestrian walkways for improved site safety
- Detailed finishing around drainage systems and production equipment
The Challenge
Delivering the refurbishment within a live brewery required careful planning, phased working and close coordination to maintain production. Replacing the drainage infrastructure while achieving the correct falls and installing a durable flooring system demanded precision, flexibility and strict compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
The Outcome
Completed within an 11-day programme, the project delivered a seamless, chemical-resistant flooring system with improved drainage and enhanced pedestrian safety.
